Organizational Involvement

InvestEdTX is a non-partisan campaign advocating for sufficient resources so that students can be better prepared for college and career.

We believe Texas public school students are capable of great things and deserve the necessary financial investment in our schools to meet their full potential.

Texans are deeply invested in our communities and desire a public education system that teaches our kids and builds our future workforce.

With your help we can ensure that the children of Texas are successful in our schools and, ultimately, in our workforce.

InvestEd TX is dedicated to four central tenets

  1. Students First: Students are the future of Texas. We strive to support them in all that we do.

  2. Teachers Matter: Teachers are the single most important in-school factor in determining student success. Great schools cannot exist without great teachers.

  3. Local Innovation and Autonomy: Texas is large and diverse; a one-size-fits-all approach will not work here. Local stakeholders and school districts must lead the effort to build effective schools.

  4. Additional Dollars to Improve Outcomes: Texas students have increasing needs and deserve additional investments, geared toward successful strategies, to provide the necessary supports.

In line with our central tenets, InvestEd TX supports

  • Strategically and sustainably improving our school finance formula to increase per-pupil funding with significant new dollars that supplement current funding

  • A high focus on early literacy interventions, including Pre-K and K-2 literacy supports, to ensure that more students are ready to read by 3rd grade

  • Additional funding for students to achieve critical gateways in the K-12 system, with greater weighting for low-income students and English Language Learners

  • Increasing Teacher Compensation, through increases to per-pupil funding and by providing an optional Teacher Quality Allotment to implement a compensation approach connected to a locally-developed multi-measure evaluation system that is approved by the Texas Education Agency.
